Description

Elspet has survived thousands of years on the blood of humans. She protects her daughter Hannah until the day both are free of the undead curse. A pact with a fallen Seraph bestowed Elspet with the power to ensure she could stop any threat. In return, she was bound to destroy demons on earth and had hunted them without notice, until now.

The demon prince, Verriel, learns of Elspet and her mission. He will stop at nothing to kill her or make her suffer for destroying his minions in Los Angeles.

Vampires and lilins pose no threat, but when demons rise against her, Elspet must prepare for a new danger, a real threat.

  • Great book, great deal!!!

First let me preface this by saying that this is a complicated tale with lots of obscure references. I suggest having a good sense of vampire lore before diving in to this tome.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way:

    ********SPOILERS AHEAD********

Elspet is one badass lilin (hostile night spirit) babe on a mission to eat people and protect her daughter from the ape demons from hell.

I tandem read this with a friend, so this is what *we* thought:

All the sexy strip club stuff was great and we wish more of the story took place in the "Naked Sins" club. We think the parts of the book set in the club really humanize Elspet and brings another layer to the story. To that point, we wanted way more PUA stuff! We were so excited to read that Arthur was a PUA working the Sunset Strip and were excited to read about his exploits 😉

All the demon fights were great, perfect amount of demon battles. We didn't need more or less, really perfect.

We liked the space travel, it was really unexpected and a fun twist. It helped us understand Elspet's powers better.

Loved the old-timey language. It sells the fact that Elspet is really from another time.

Appreciated that Hannah was a gamer, nice touch, reminded us of our own PVP days.

We also loved the book cover as it looks exactly like how we pictured Elspet.

We want a sequel, more of Elspet the Lilin!!

Anyway for $0.99 you can't afford to NOT get this e-book.
